Length

4–7 mm.

Features for regional diagnosis

Gn2 sexually dimorphic, in male asymmetrical, palmar margin of enlarged side straight, with two broad subquadrate processes (lacking on other side). Pleon segments posterodorsal margins entire, lacking teeth or serrations. Ep1–3 serrated. Us1,2 posterodorsal margin with single weak median tooth. T lobes subapical robust setae short.

Distribution

Bahama Islands ( Fox 1973); south Florida from Biscayne Bay south to the Dry Tortugas; Apalachee Bay and Perdido Key, Florida; Caribbean ( LeCroy 2000).

Ecology

Common on coral rubble, algae and sponge bottoms at depths of 0.5–6.0 m; also occasionally found in grassbeds ( LeCroy 2000). Here down to 73 m.
