Distribution. Northeastern São Paulo to northeastern Santa Catarina , southeastern and southern Brazil, at altitudes between about 450 and 1100 m (Pl. 25: Fig. 1 View PLATE 1 ).

Remarks. The habitus of this and the former species is similar, and only examination of the phallus is conclusive for identification. For specimens of this species, geographical location may help with species determination. In northeastern Santa Catarina , the abundance of trapped moths of C. ochracea during the summer in dense ombrophilous and semi-deciduous forests is second only to C. meridionalis . Despite occurring near the geographic range of C. ferruginosa , the two species are allopatric, with range overlap occurring only with C. meridionalis in this species-group.
