Description. Adult (Figs 10, 17, 79). Wingspan 8.0̄13.0 mm. Head silvery white. Labial palpus silvery white, longer in female; segment I fuscous on outer surface, segment II fuscous dorso-distally, hair pencil reaching distal end of II in male; segment III fuscous and slender, nearly as long as II, pointed at apex. Antenna with scape white; flagellum with dorsal half white, remaining flagellum black; male with cilia slightly longer than width. Thorax silvery white, sometimes suffused with fuscous scales post-medially. Tegula silvery white. Forewing with hair pencil reaching basal 2/ 3 in male; ground color silvery white, with dark brown or fuscous markings: basal fascia narrow; V-shaped basal marking at 1/5, confluent with basal fascia on costa, its posterior end reaching fold; antemedian fascia slender, zigzagged, broadly interrupted by silvery white scales below fold; median fascia straight or sometimes zigzagged, twice width of antemedian fascia; distal fascia broad, somewhat fusiform, usually suffused with silvery white scales in center, extending from between 2/3 and 5/6 of costal margin to dorsum, sometimes not reaching dorsum, its inner margin sharply extended medially toward base; subapical spot present. Hindwing dark grey. Legs as in P. pylartis .

Pregenital abdomen (Fig. 42). In male, coremata situated interiorly, about 1/3 length of abdomen; sternum VIII moderately large, rounded, slightly concave at middle on posterior margin; tergum VIII with sclerotized edge. Female with segment VII moderately concave on posterior margin.

Male genitalia (Figs 60, 100). Uncus elliptical, with a medial groove ventrally, slightly emarginate at apex. Culcitula present. Gnathos hook slender and long, upcurved from basal 1/3, sharply pointed at apex. Tegumen three times longer than uncus, anterior margin deeply concave; weakly developed medial process at anterior 1/3, behind it set with tubercles bilaterally, each tubercle rounded, with a long hair at apex (Fig. 60). Valva narrow, gradually tapering from base to subapex, slightly widened before apex, rounded at apex. Anellus lobe rudimentary. Vinculum simple, rounded posteriorly. Saccus stout, 1/4 length of valva, tapering toward blunt apex. Juxta simple, with sparse setae at basal 2/3 of inner margin. Aedeagus with basal 1/3 dilated, distal 2/3 slender and slightly curved downward in lateral view, tapering toward apex; apex blunt in dorsal view, pointed in lateral view.

Female genitalia (Figs 119, 119a). Papillae anales simple. Apophyses anteriores about 1/2 length of apophyses posteriores. Tergum VIII divided into two sclerites, wrinkled anteriorly; sternum VIII concave posteriorly, rounded anteriorly; anterior 1/5 with a large sub-trapezoidal flap covering ostium bursae, its posterior margin emarginate. Ostium bursae small, opening at anterior 1/5 of sternum VIII. Ductus bursae narrow, slightly shorter than corpus bursae; ductus seminalis arising from posterior 1/3. Corpus bursae with microtrichia posteriorly, constricted medially, peanut-shaped; signum at posterior 1/3, basal plate rounded or sub-triangular, with a hook-shaped process arising from middle.

Diagnosis. Palumbina sineloba sp. nov. has a wide range of variation in forewing markings. The most distinguishable difference from similar species is the somewhat fusiform shape of the distal fascia often suffused with silvery white scales in the center. The color is similar to that of P. acerosa sp. nov., but it is slightly dusky in P. sineloba sp. nov. The most obvious characteristic of the male genitalia is the absence of the anellus lobes, which is unusual in this genus. The male genitalia are rather simple as compared to its allies due to the absence of the anellus lobes and the process of juxta, as well as the reduced tegumen process. Female genitalia are characterized by the peanut-shaped corpus bursae.

Distribution. China (Guizhou, Hainan, Yunnan).

Etymology. The species name is derived from the Latin sine (without) and lobus (lobe), referring to the absence of anellus lobes in the male genitalia.

Variations. The V-shaped basal marking of the forewing is sometimes broadened anteriorly in a form of patch, or interrupted by white scales medially. The broad distal fascia is sometimes interrupted by white scales and forms an inward opening C-shape.
