Report as epibiont on oligochaetes: Reported as an epibiont of the oligochaetes Dero nivea , D. digitata , and Nais variabilis in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, United States ( Smith 1986).

Remarks: Smith 1986 reported that 80% of the ciliates were located on the final body segments of the oligochaetes and attributes this preference to the ventilation generated by the ciliary gills located on the posterior region of D. nivea .
