Limnophora pseudolispoides ( Peris, 1963: 109) View in CoL .

Holotype male from Annobón Island, in CSIC (not seen).

Diagnosis. Colour pattern as in Fig. 5 View FIGURES 5 – 8 of Peris (1963). Fronto-orbital plate grey pollinose; scutum black, with postpronotal lobe, notopleuron and pleura grey dusted; mouth-margin projecting beyond profrons in lateral view; 2–3 frontal and 1 orbital setae in male; dorsocentrals 2+3, anterior presutural pair very short; 2 postsutural intraalars; prosternum with 1–2 marginal setulae; fore tibia without submedian seta; mid femur with 1 preapical posterior seta; mid tibia with 1 short posterior seta; hind femur with 1 strong anteroventral before apex; female abdomen almost wholly dark, with a little grey dust in antero-lateral corners of syntergite 1+2 and tergites 3 and 4. Male cercal plate as in Peris (1963: Fig. 6 View FIGURES 5 – 8 ).

Notes. This species was originally described in Spilogona and runs to couplet 5(6) in Emden’s (1951) key. It can be differentiated according to Peris (l.c.) as follows:

5(6) Palpus slightly spatulate. Vein M straight near apex, not upcurved. Frons with 1 rather strong reclinate and exclinate orbital seta.

a(b) The longest hairs on arista clearly longer than the basal aristal width. Parafacial half as wide as postpedicel. Frons clearly widened in front, and face very slightly narrowed below lunule. Antenna, palpus and legs reddish-brown. Posterior notopleural seta clearly much shorter than anterior seta. Wing with vein R1 not reaching the level of crossvein r-m.... lispoides (Emden) b(a) The longest hairs on arista not longer than the basal aristal width or at most subequal. Parafacial one-third as wide as postpedicel. Frons slightly widened in front and face widened from lunule to mouth-margin. Antenna, palpus and legs brownish-black. Notopleural setae more or less subequal. Wing with vein R1 just reaching the level of crossvein r-m.. pseudolispoides (Peris)
