Comments. The figures of Z. parascrutatus here provided are intending to give a more detailed aspect of the male genital characters and its taxonomic affinity to the closely related Z. scrutatus (O.-P. Cambridge, 1872). The two species share a long terminal apophysis which reaches the anterior part of the tegulum (in Z. parascrutatus having more rounded rims and fitting the embolus inside a membranous fold) and an extended embolar base, sclerotized at most of its length (in Z. scrutatus the tip of the embolar base is more pronounced and overrides the embolus tip) (see also Chatzaki et al. 2003, p. 71, figs 72–74). The finding of both sexes syntopically in Rodos island confirms their correct matching, only tentatively paired in the initial description by Levy (1998).
