Accepted name. Senna huancabambae (Harms) H.S. Irwin & Barneby (1982: 561) .

Notes. The protologue of Cassia huancabambae indicates the collection A. Weberbauer 6285 as the type material. The holotype deposited at the Berlin Herbarium (B), however, was probably destroyed during World War II, although a photograph of the specimen is available in the negatives collection of the Field Museum (F), under number F-1693. We located six specimens labeled A. Weberbauer 6285, and we are designating here the specimen under barcode GH00053175 deposited at the Gray Herbarium of Harvard University (GH) as the lectotype, as it is complete and shows leaves, flowers, and fruits.
