Ecology: dry evergreen forest, secondary forest, gallery forest, Eucalyptus savannah, bamboo thickets, scrubby vegetation; common near streams and in open spots; soil often dry, half of specimens on limestone, other half on granite derived soils; from sea level up to 800(–1100) m ( van Welzen & Forster 2012 ).
Distribution: China, Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Java, Philippines, Sulawesi, Lesser Sunda Islands, Moluccas ( van Welzen & Forster 2012 ).
