Deinodryinus madecassus (Benoit) : Olmi 1984: 125; 1994c: 10; Azevedo et al. 2010: 881; Guglielmino & Olmi 2015: 242 View Cited Treatment .

Description. ♀. Fully winged; body length 3.0–5.0 mm. Reddish-ferruginous or reddish-darkened; mandible testa- ceous, except teeth brown; antenna testaceous, except antennomeres 7–10 brown; metapectal-propodeal disc black; metasoma brown. In specimen from Madagascar, 23°25.82’S 43°50.05’E, antenna totally brown. Antenna clavate; antennomeres in following proportions: 11:5:11:6:6:6:6:6:5:7. Head shiny, strongly punctate, especially in anterior region, unsculptured among punctures; occipital carina complete; POL = 7; OL = 5; OOL = 9; OPL = 7; TL = 7. Pronotum shiny, strongly punctate, unsculptured among punctures, crossed by transverse impression separating anterior collar from posterior disc; lateral margins of posterior surface of pronotum rounded; pronotal tubercle reaching tegula. Mesoscutum shiny, finely punctate, unsculptured among punctures. Notauli incomplete, reaching approximately 0.65 × length of mesoscutum. Mesoscutellum and metanotum shiny, finely punctate, unsculptured among punctures; anterior margin of metanotum shiny, unsculptured, with anterior margin very convex and raised into carina. Mesopleuron shiny, strongly punctate, with tuft of setae on anterior third. Metapleuron partly unsculptured. Metapectal-propodeal disc reticulate rugose, without transverse posterior keel; propodeal declivity without longitudinal keels, reticulate rugose, except central smooth area. In specimen from Madagascar, 23°25.82’S 43°50.05’E, propodeal declivity without central smooth area. Forewing hyaline, with two dark transverse bands; distal part of 2r-rs&Rs vein longer than proximal part (14:8). Protarsomeres in following proportions: 8:3:4:8:19; no protarsomeres produced into hooks. Enlarged claw ( Fig. 91H View FIGURE 91 ) with one bristle situated further distally than proximal prominence. Protarsomere 5 ( Fig. 91H View FIGURE 91 ) with two rows of lamellae (about eight longer and 21 shorter); apex with approximately seven lamellae, among which one much longer than others; apex forming obtuse angle with rest of protarsomere 5. Tibial spurs 1/1/2.

♂ (supposed, because not reared; referred to D. madecassus by Benoit (1954)): fully winged; body length 2.4–3.4 mm. Head black; mandible testaceous, except teeth brown; antenna brown, except scape and pedicel or only scape testaceous; mesosoma black; tegula testaceous; metasoma brown; legs brown, except tarsi and meso- and metatibia testaceous; occasionally legs totally brown. Antenna filiform, with setae at most as long as breadth of antennomeres; antennomeres in following proportions: 8:4:7:5:5:5:5:5:5:8. Head shiny, strongly punctate (finely punctate in specimen from Madagascar, 13°42.55’S 50°06.06’E), unsculptured among punctures; frontal line incomplete, not present in front of anterior ocellus; occipital carina complete; POL = 8; OL = 4; OOL = 6; OPL = 5; TL = 4. Mesoscutum shiny, finely punctate, unsculptured among punctures. Notauli incomplete, reaching approximately 0.5–0.7 × length of mesoscutum. Mesoscutellum and metanotum shiny, punctate, unsculptured among punctures. Metapectal-propodeal disc dull, reticulate rugose, without transverse posterior keel; propodeal declivity completely reticulate rugose, or with more or less large smooth area situated near distal extremity or in centre. Forewing hyaline, without dark transverse bands; distal part of 2r-rs&Rs vein slightly longer than proximal part (10:9). Paramere ( Fig. 86F View FIGURE 86 ) with large apical hatchet blade shaped branch wrapping penis, without dorsal proximal membranous process. Tibial spurs 1/1/2.
