( Figs 202 View FIGURE 202 G–I, 203 View FIGURE 203 F)
Gonatopus yemenensis Olmi & van Harten 2006: 330 .
Description. ♀. Apterous; body length 3.0 mm. Head brown, except clypeus, malar space, mandible and part of oc- ciput testaceous; propleuron brown; pronotum brown, except part of disc and sides reddish-testaceous; mesoscutum, mesoscutellum, mesopleuron and metapectal-propodeal disc brown, except some reddish-testaceous nuances; metasoma brown; legs brown, except tarsi, trochanters and part of protibia testaceous. Antenna clavate; antennomeres in following proportions: 8:5:16:6:6:6:5:5.5:5:8. Head flat ( Fig. 202G View FIGURE 202 ), dull, granulate, covered with thin short setae; frontal line complete; occipital carina almost completely absent (short track present behind ocellar triangle); POL = 1; OL = 2; OOL = 6; temple very long ( Fig. 202H View FIGURE 202 ). Palpal formula 4/2. Pronotum almost bare, crossed by track of transverse impression ( Fig. 202I View FIGURE 202 ), with anterior collar shiny, unsculptured; disc dull and slightly alutaceous. Mesoscutum shiny, with numerous longitudinal striae, without lateral pointed apophyses. Mesoscutellum shiny, smooth, flat. Metanotum short, transversely striate and about coplanar to mesoscutellum ( Fig. 202I View FIGURE 202 ). Metapectal-propodeal disc shiny, covered with thin short setae, with top and anterior surface unsculptured; propodeal declivity, meso- and metapleuron transversely striate; top of metapectal-propodeal disc with short track of longitudinal furrow. Mesometapleural suture obsolete. Protarsomeres in following proportions: 12:2:3:15:21. Enlarged claw ( Fig. 203F View FIGURE 203 ) with one small subapical tooth and one row of seven peg-like setae + one bristle. Protarsomere 5 ( Fig. 203F View FIGURE 203 ) with short serrated inner proximal portion and one row of 25 lamellae; apex with approximately nine lamellae. Tibial spurs 1/0/1.
♂. Unknown.
Material examined. Type: ♀ holotype: YEMEN: Ja’ar , 13°13’N 45°18’E, 50 m, 15.I.2001, A. van Harten leg. ( MOLC). GoogleMaps
Hosts. Unknown.
Distribution. Yemen.
Remarks. Because of the presence of the track of the transverse furrow on the pronotum, G. yemenensis can also be included in group 7, where it is similar to Gonatopus mosseli Olmi 1984. However, the subapical tooth of the enlarged claw of G. yemenensis is farther from the apex ( Fig. 203F View FIGURE 203 ) than in G. mosseli ( Fig. 233E View FIGURE 233 ).
