Pterogonatopus Abdul-Nour 1976: 275 (synonymized by Olmi 1984); type species: Pterogonatopus hortusensis Abdul-Nour 1976 , by monotypy.

Type species. Echthrodelphax fairchildii R. Perkins 1903 , by monotypy.

Diagnosis. ♀: fully winged ( Figs 162D View FIGURE 162 , 165A, B View FIGURE 165 ); rarely brachypterous (only in one specimen of E. rufus Olmi 1984 from China, Guangdong, Yunjishan Nature Reserve); palpal formula 3/2, 4/2, 5/2, 5/3, or 6/3; antenna with ADOs; pronotum crossed by strong transverse furrow ( Fig. 162D View FIGURE 162 ); notauli complete ( Figs 165A, B View FIGURE 165 ); enlarged claw with one subapical tooth and one row of lamellae ( Figs 166A, D View FIGURE 166 ); protarsomere 5 with less than 15 medial lamellae ( Figs 166A, D View FIGURE 166 ); tibial spurs 1/0/1. ♂: fully winged ( Figs 165C, D View FIGURE 165 ); head with distinct complete occipital carina; oc- ciput concave; temple present; palpal formula 3/2, 4/2, 5/2, 5/3, or 6/3; tibial spurs 1/1/2.

Distribution. Worldwide.

Hosts. Delphacidae ( Guglielmino & Olmi 1997, 2006; Guglielmino et al. 2013).

World species. 15 species are known, two in the Afrotropical region.
