Gonatopus polli (Benoit): Olmi & van Harten 2000: 265; Olmi 2006: 45. Description. ♀ ( Figs 177A, B View FIGURE 177 ). Apterous; body length 3.0– 3.6 mm. Completely yellow-reddish, except petiole black. Head excavated, shiny, slightly granulate, with frons unsculptured. Palpal formula 4/2. Pronotum shiny, granulate, crossed by strong transverse impression. Mesoscutum and mesoscutellum granulate. Mesoscutum without lateral pointed apophyses ( Fig. 177A View FIGURE 177 ). Metanotum with sides rounded ( Fig. 177A View FIGURE 177 ), about coplanar to mesoscutellum ( Fig. 177B View FIGURE 177 ). Metapectal-propodeal disc granulate, with track of median longitudinal furrow; propodeal declivity transversely striate. Meso-metapleural suture obsolete. Mesopleuron and metapleuron not transversely striate; occasionally striate. In specimen from Niger, Tarna goulbin, body almost completely unsculptured, except transverse striae on propodeal declivity and pleuron. Protarsomeres in following proportions: 13:2:4:11:18. Enlarged claw ( Fig. 176B View FIGURE 176 ) with one large subapical tooth and one row of 4–5 lamellae. Protarsomere 5 ( Fig. 176B View FIGURE 176 ) with two rows of 20–37 lamellae extending continuously to apex. Tibial spurs 1/0/1.

Other material: NIGER: Maradi, Tarna goulbin, 1♀ ( TAMU) . SOUTH AFRICA: Eastern Cape, Somerset East, 1♀ ( AMNH) ; Western Cape, Mossel Bay , 30.XII.1938, R.E. Turner leg., 1♀ ( NHMUK) ; same locality label, II.1922, 1 ♀ ( NHMUK) ; Western Cape, Ceres , IV.1925, R.E. Turner leg., 1♀ ( NHMUK) . YEMEN: Sana’a, 9.V.1991, in rad- ish field, A. van Harten leg., 2♀♀ ( MOLC) ; Wadi Dhar , 10.VII.1991, ex cocoon on Sorghum , A. van Harten leg., 1♀ ( MOLC) .
