Description. ♀. Apterous; body length 3.0– 6.3 mm. Head black, except mandible yellow; antenna black, except ventral side of scape yellow; mesosoma and metasoma black; legs brown-black, except tarsi testaceous. In small specimen (3.0 mm) from South Africa, Die Dam, head black, except mandible, clypeus, malar space and anterior part of frons testaceous; mesosoma black, except mesoscutum and metanotum testaceous. Antenna clavate; antennomeres in following proportions: 15:8:27:15:12:10:9:6.5:7:11. Head excavated, dull, granulate; frontal line complete; occipital carina absent; temple distinct; POL = 3; OL = 1.5; OOL = 10.5. Palpal formula 6/3. Pronotum dull, granulate, crossed by strong transverse impression. Mesoscutum dull, granulate, with some longitudinal keels or completely granulate, with two lateral pointed apophyses. Mesoscutellum sloping anteriorly, dull, granulate. Metanotum not transversely striate, with sides rounded, excavated behind mesoscutellum. Metapectal-propodeal disc dull, granulate; propodeal declivity with lateral regions transversely striate and median region granulate and not striate. In specimen from South Africa, Die Dam, propodeal declivity completely transversely striate. Mesopleuron and metapleuron transversely striate. In specimen from Uganda, 01°45’N 31°35’E, mesopleuron and metapleuron granulate and not transversely striate. Meso-metapleural suture distinct and complete. Protarsomere 1 of holotype slightly longer than 4 (20:19). Enlarged claw ( Fig. 234F View FIGURE 234 ) with one small subapical tooth and two bristles (or two peg-like setae and one bristle). Protarsomere 5 ( Fig. 234F View FIGURE 234 ) with two rows of 1–3 (proximal) + 20–23 lamellae; apex with about 12–16 lamellae. Tibial spurs 1/0/1.

Material examined. Type: ♀ holotype: UGANDA: Kyagur , XI.1938, T.H.C. Taylor leg. ( NHMUK). Oth- er material: CAMEROON: 6 mi. S Kumba, 180 m , 1♀ ( AMNH). SOUTH AFRICA: Western Cape, Die Dam , 24.II.2006, M. Olmi reared ex Caffrolix cyclopia (Cogan) , 1♀ ( MOLC). UGANDA: Masindi District, Budongo Forest near Sonso , 01°45’N 31°35’E, VI.1995, Th. Wagner leg. GoogleMaps , 1♀ ( CNC) .

Hosts. Cicadellidae ( Guglielmino et al. 2013) : in South Africa: Caffrolix cyclopia (Cogan) .
