Gonatopus martellii Olmi 2002: 277 ; 2006: 50.
Description. ♀ ( Fig. 228A View FIGURE 228 ). Apterous; body length 3.1–3.7 mm. Holotype and paratype ferruginous, except peti- ole black, metasoma mostly brown, antennomeres 6–10 darkened, legs partly darkened; in specimen from South Africa, 22°27’S 31°17’E, head and mesosoma ferruginous-brown. Antenna clavate; antennomeres in following proportions: 11:6:11:6:6:6:4.5:4.5:4.5:7.5. Head flat, dull, granulate; frontal line absent (only track); occipital carina almost completely absent (shortly present on sides of lateral ocelli, not reaching eyes); occiput dull, granulate, setose; POL = 3.5; OL = 3.5; OOL = 9; OPL = 0.5; TL = 4. Palpal formula 6/3. Pronotum, crossed by strong transverse impression, with anterior collar and disc dull, granulate. Mesoscutum slightly longer than broad (11:10), shiny, sculptured by longitudinal striae, laterally without pointed apophyses. Mesoscutellum shiny, smooth, sloping anteriorly. Metanotum short, longitudinally striate and excavated behind mesoscutellum. Metapectal-propodeal disc dull, granulate; propodeal declivity, mesopleura and metapleura transversely striate. Meso-metapleural suture distinct and complete. Protarsomeres in following proportions: 14:3:5:16:24. Enlarged claw ( Fig. 223G View FIGURE 223 ) with one small subapical tooth and one row of four peg-like setae, in addition to one bristle. Protarsomere 5 ( Fig. 223G View FIGURE 223 ) with two rows of 3 (proximal) + 20 lamellae; apex with approximately 17 lamellae. Tibial spurs 1/0/1.

Material examined. Types: ♀ holotype: BOTSWANA: Serowe, MT, VIII.1989, P. Forchhammer leg. ( CAS). Paratype: same locality label as holotype, VI.1988, 1 ♀ ( MOLC). Other material: SOUTH AFRICA: Limpopo, Krüger National Park, Pafuri , 22°27’S 31°17’E, 2–13.II.1980, MT, L.E.O. Braack leg. GoogleMaps , 1♀ ( DJBC) .
