( Figs 230B View FIGURE 230 , 233E View FIGURE 233 )

Gonatopus mosseli Olmi 1984: 1603 ; 2006: 50.

Description. ♀. Apterous; body length 3.1 mm. Completely ferruginous, except petiole black. Antenna clavate. Head ( Fig. 230B View FIGURE 230 ) almost flat, shiny, unsculptured or slightly granulate; temple very prominent; POL = 4; OL = 6; OOL = 19. Palpal formula 4/2. Pronotum crossed by strong transverse impression, shiny, unsculptured. Mesoscutum shiny, with some longitudinal keels, without lateral pointed apophyses. Metanotum shiny, transversely striate, about coplanar to mesoscutellum. Metapectal-propodeal disc shiny, unsculptured; propodeal declivity transversely striate. Mesopleuron not transversely striate. Metapleuron transversely striate. Meso-metapleural suture obsolete. Protarsomere 1 slightly shorter than 4 (10:11). Enlarged claw ( Fig. 233E View FIGURE 233 ) with one small subapical tooth and six lamellae, in addition to one bristle. Protarsomere 5 ( Fig. 233E View FIGURE 233 ) with inner side proximally serrate and one row of approximately 16 lamellae; apex with approximately 15 lamellae. Tibial spurs 1/0/1.

♂. Unknown.

Material examined. Type: ♀ holotype: SOUTH AFRICA: Western Cape, Mossel Bay , V.1928, R.E. Turner leg. ( NHMUK).

Hosts. Unknown.

Distribution. South Africa.

Remarks. Based on the presence of the track of the transverse furrow on the pronotum, G. yemenensis (group 6) can be included in group 7, where it is similar to Gonatopus mosseli Olmi 1984. However, the subapical tooth of the enlarged claw of G. yemenensis is farther from the apex ( Fig. 203F View FIGURE 203 ) than it is in G. mosseli ( Fig. 233E View FIGURE 233 ).
