Description. ♀. Apterous; body length 2.5–4.5 mm. Head black, except mandible, clypeus and anterior region of frons (more along orbits) yellow (in very large specimen (4.5 mm) from Madagascar, 22°18.48’S 45°17.30’E, frons black, mandible and clypeus yellow); antenna yellow-reddish, except antennomeres 6–10, or 7–10, or 9–10 yellow; occasionally antenna totally brown, or testaceous, except antennomere 10 brown; mesosoma and metasoma black; legs yellow-reddish, except coxae and clubs of femora brownish; occasionally legs brown, except trochanters, tibiae and tarsi testaceous. Head excavated, shiny, unsculptured, except occiput and anterior region of frons granulate. Palpal formula 5/2 (in scutellaris ), or 6/3 (in trochantericus ). Pronotum crossed by strong transverse impression, shiny, unsculptured, bare. Mesoscutum shiny, with some longitudinal keels, with two pointed apophyses laterally ( Fig. 240G View FIGURE 240 ). Metanotum excavated behind mesoscutellum ( Fig. 240H View FIGURE 240 ). Metapectal-propodeal disc shiny, unsculptured; propodeal declivity more or less transversely striate. In specimen from South Africa, 33°37.622’S 18°24.259’E, top of metapectal-propodeal disc with track of median longitudinal furrow. Mesopleuron not transversely striate. Metapleuron transversely striate. Meso-metapleural suture distinct and complete. Protarsomere 1 shorter than 4 (14:21). Enlarged claw ( Fig. 240K View FIGURE 240 ) with one small subapical tooth and 1–9 peg-like setae or bristles. Protarsomere 5 ( Fig. 240K View FIGURE 240 ) with inner side proximally not serrate and two rows of 25–38 lamellae; apex with 7–15 lamellae. Tibial spurs 1/0/1.
