Type locality. Palmas , Tocantins State, Brazil .

Distribution. Endemic to Brazil ( Plt. 275A View Plate 275 ). Restricted to the northern portion of the Cerrado, close to its contact with Amazonia, in the mid Tocantins River drainage ( Plt. 275A View Plate 275 ). All records at low elevations ( Plt. 275B View Plate 275 ). Observed in the field in riparian habitats including wetlands, palm marshes, and gallery forest ( Franco et al., 2007).
