Type locality. “ India?” (in error) .

Distribution. Endemic to Brazil ( Plt. 288A View Plate 288 ), recorded in eastern Amazonia and its contact areas with Cerrado ( Plt. 288A View Plate 288 ) at low elevations of the Tocantins, Xingu, and Araguaia basins ( Plt. 288B View Plate 288 ). Observed in the field in small streams and wetlands within riparian forest ( Cunha and Nascimento, 1993).
