Ditaxodon taeniatus View in CoL (Peters in Hensel, 1868)

Type locality. Porto Alegre , Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Possibly in error ( Bérnils et al., 2008) .

Distribution. Endemic to Brazil ( Plt. 294A View Plate 294 ). Known from few and scattered records,mostly in Araucaria Forest, and marginally in the Cerrado and Atlantic Forest ( Plt. 294A View Plate 294 ), mostly at high elevations ( Plt. 294B View Plate 294 ). Observed in the field in montane grassland ( Thomas et al., 2006).
