Hydrops martii View in CoL (Wagler in Spix, 1824)

Type locality. Rio Itapecuru , state of Maranhão, Brazil .

Distribution. Known from Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, and Venezuela, in Amazonian forests ( Plt. 291A View Plate 291 ). In Brazil, widespread in Amazonia ( Plt. 291A View Plate 291 ) at low elevations ( Plt. 291B View Plate 291 ). Observed in the field in lakes, rivers, and flooded forest ( Scartozzoni, 2010).
