Type locality. Province of Tucumán, Argentina .

Distribution. Known from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, and Paraguay, mostly along the Chaco region ( Plt. 306A View Plate 306 ). In Brazil, recorded in the western portion of the Cerrado ( Plt. 306A View Plate 306 ), mostly from intermediate elevations ( Plt. 306B View Plate 306 ). Observed in the field in grassland and open savanna on sandy soils (CS and GRC, pers. obs.).
