Type locality. São João , Cabo Frio, state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil .

Distribution. Known from Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay ( Plt. 312A View Plate 312 ). In Brazil, recorded in the Atlantic Forest, with isolated records in the Cerrado and Amazonia ( Plt. 312A View Plate 312 ), at low to intermediate elevations ( Plt. 312B View Plate 312 ). Previous maps and taxonomy in Zaher (1996). Observed in the field in forest ( Gaiarsa et al., 2013).
