Type locality. Cerro La Laguna , Turimiquire massif, Freites, Anzoátegui, Venezuela .

Distribution. Known from Brazil, French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname, and Venezuela ( Plt. 359A View Plate 359 ). In Brazil, restricted to northeastern Amazonia and Guianan savannas ( Plt. 359A View Plate 359 ) at low to high elevations ( Plt. 359B View Plate 359 ). Observed in the field in forest ( Manzanilla et al., 2006).
