Thamnodynastes pallidus ( Linnaeus, 1758)

Type locality. “Indiis” (in error).

Distribution. Known from Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela ( Plt. 357A ). In Brazil, widespread in Amazonia and the northern part of the Atlantic Forest, with marginal records near its contact with the Caatinga, forming a disjunct distribution ( Plt. 357A ). Recorded mostly at low elevations ( Plt. 357B ). Maps and taxonomy in Bailey et al. (2005). Observed in the field in wet forest ( Silveira et al., 2017), close to water ( Cunha and Nascimento, 1993; McDiarmid and Donelly, 2005; Santana et al., 2008) and open areas ( Guedes et al., 2014).
