Type locality. Auyantepui , Bolivar, Venezuela .

Distribution. Known from Brazil and Venezuela ( Plt. 387A View Plate 387 ). In Brazil, recorded in Guianan savannas, at the border between Brazil and Venezuela ( Plt. 387A View Plate 387 ), at high elevations ( Plt. 387B View Plate 387 ). Previous map and taxonomy in Dixon (1983, 1989). Observed in the field in a rocky stream in dense and humid evergreen forest and in boggy meadows, both on top of sandstone tepuis above 1,700 m (Myers and Donnely, 2008).
