Type locality. Canelos , province of Pastaza, Ecuador .

Distribution. Known from Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela in Amazonian forest ( Plt. 170A View Plate 170 ).In Brazil,widespread in Amazonia ( Plt. 170A View Plate 170 ), mostly at low elevations ( Plt. 170B View Plate 170 ). Observed in the field in primary and secondary forest ( Dixon and Soini, 1977; Martins and Oliveira, 1993; Schargel et al., 2013).
