Type locality. Unknown.

Distribution. Known from Brazil, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela on the Guiana Shield ( Plt. 189A View Plate 189 ). In Brazil, restricted to Amazonia, north of the Amazon River ( Plt. 189A View Plate 189 ), at low elevations ( Plt. 189B View Plate 189 ). Observed in the field in forest ( Cunha and Nascimento, 1980; Hoogmoed, 1980; Martins and Oliveira, 1993).
