Type locality. Rio de Janeiro , State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil .

Distribution. Endemic to Brazil ( Plt. 224A View Plate 224 ). Restricted to the southern portion of the Atlantic Forest ( Plt. 224A View Plate 224 ), mostly at high elevations ( Plt. 224B View Plate 224 ). Observed in the field in secondary forest ( Hartmann et al., 2009; Barbo et al., 2011).
