Type locality. Uncertain locality in the state of Ceará, Brazil .

Distribution. Endemic to Brazil ( Plt. 235A View Plate 235 ). Widespread in the Caatinga with marginal occurrences in the Atlantic Forest, Amazonia, and Cerrado ( Plt. 235A View Plate 235 ), from low to high elevations ( Plt. 235B View Plate 235 ). Observed in the field in open areas associated with dry vegetation and disturbed areas ( Ferrarezzi et al., 2005; Guedes et al., 2014).
