Type locality. Luís Eduardo Magalhães hydroelectric power plant, Palmas, state of Tocantins, Brazil .

Distribution. Endemic to Brazil ( Plt. 230A View Plate 230 ), restricted to the eastern portion of the Cerrado ( Plt. 230A View Plate 230 ), mostly from mid to high elevations ( Plt. 230B View Plate 230 ). Observed in the field in grassland and savanna on sandy soil ( Ferrarezzi et al., 2005; Nogueira et al., 2011).
