Type locality. Santo Inácio , Gentio do Ouro, state of Bahia, Brazil .

Distribution. Endemic to Brazil ( Plt. 9A View Plate 9 ). Widespread in the Caatinga ( Plt. 9A View Plate 9 ), mostly at intermediate to high elevations ( Plt. 9B View Plate 9 ). Observed in the field in xerophitic vegetation and upland forest in Caatinga ( Ribeiro et al., 2012; Guedes et al., 2014).
