Syntype: ZMB 2645 View Materials , skin and skull (damaged); “Van Diemen´s Land” = Tasmania, Australia; collected and donated by Gould .
Comment: Tate (1941f: 596) referred to BMNH 1907.1 .1.342 as a type, however, this specimen is probably another syntype (Van Cakenberghe pers. com.) .
