Lectotype (here designated): ZMB 3973 , body in alcohol, skull extracted, male, adult; Duque de Braganca [Calandula], Angola; donated by Bocage.

Comment : Peters (1870) did not mention the number of specimens examined; probably further syntypes existed in the Museu Nacional de História Natural Lisboa , but were destroyed by fire in 1978. Since ZMB 3973 is the only known specimen it is designated as the lectotype .
