Valid name: Pteronotus parnellii (Gray, 1843)

Lectotype (here designated): ZMB 2483 , skin, skull not extracted; [Fundador, Guines, Cardenas], Cuba; collected by J. Gundlach.

Paralectotypes: ZMB 2834 (two specimens, bodies in alcohol, skulls extracted, male and female) . ZMB 2879 , skin, skull not extracted, male . ZMB 67420 and ZMB 67421, bodies in alcohol, skulls extracted, males. All specimens from Cuba [Fundador, Guines, Cardenas], leg. Gundlach.

Comment: The original description credits the authorship to Gundlach only, and the main locality as Fundador , but also Guines , Habana Province; Gundlach’s (1861) description is based mainly on a dry specimen whose external measurements agree as far as possible with ZMB 4283 (remeasured), which is here designated as the lectotype .
