Valid name: Pteronotus parnellii (Gray, 1843)
Syntype: ZMB 3023 View Materials , skin, skull not extracted, female, adult; Sportsmans Hall, Jamaica; presumably collected by Osburn, 30 November 1858, donated by Tomes .
Comment: The BMNH holds two further syntypes (1907.1.1.632 and 1907.1.1.626) .
