Valid name: Emballonura beccarii Peters & Doria, 1880
Syntype: ZMB 5670 View Materials , body in alcohol, skull extracted, male, adult; “Ansus” (= Ansas), “Yobi Id.” (= Yapen Id.), Geelvinck Bay , Irian Jaya (= West Papua), Indonesia; collected by O. Beccari & G. Doria, between 1865 and 1867 .
Comment: According to Peters & Doria (1880), two adult males from Ansus (Jobi) were used to describe this species. One of these specimens remained in the MSNG and the second was donated to ZMB.
