Evans (1951) established this species with two subspecies, but Mielke (1995) synonymised them, and hence the trinomial is no longer necessary. Recent record: ♂ Sangre Grande (ii.1990, S. Alston- Smith). Identification would still benefit from confirmation by examination of the male genitalia ( Mielke 1995).
