Description. Forewings 2.2 times longer than wide, length in male about 4.9 mm. Colour stramineous to light brown; facial carinae in front of eyes tinted with orange. Apical half of forewings uniformly infuscated, basal half clear with some infuscations near hind margin, Sc+R+M fork and around first subcostal sector; veins light brown. Hindwings colourless in basal two-third, lightly infuscated in apical third; veins stramineous to light brown. Rostrum reaching post-trochanter. Forewings with Sc+R fork before middle of wing; base of Cu1 touching base of Ms1, Ms1 branched a short distance behind apex of basal median cell, base of Ms1a angulated and connected to M by a cross-vein. Hindwings with apex of R branched. Pygofer with short and pointed lateral projections. Aedeagus with apical part long, curved ventrad, divided into two contiguous flat lobes.

Etymology. The species name is a Latin adjective ( dimidius , -a, -um = halved).

Type material. Holotype ♂ (forewing 4.9 mm), WEST MALAYSIA; labels: 1) MALAYA: Cameron/ Highlands, Mt./ Brichang, 2–7.I.59 2) L.W. Quate / Collector ( BPBM).

Distribution. West Malaysia.

Diagnosis. Muiralevu dimidius can be recognized by the forewings being infuscated in the apical half, but mainly clear in the basal half. The structure of the male genitalia is similar to that of M. maestus sp. nov. and M. reticulatus sp. nov., also found in West Malaysia.
