Description. Forewings 2.2 times longer than wide, length in male about 3.8 mm. Colour stramineous to light brown; fore tibiae and tarsi tinted with red. Forewings powdered, white; a light brown mark around M-Ms4 fork; most veins lined with faint infuscations; veins light-brown. Rostrum surpassing post-trochanter. Forewings with Sc+R fork before middle of wing; bases of Cu1 and Ms1 connected by a short cross-vein; Ms1 branched at apex of basal median cell; base of Ms1a angulated and connected to M by a cross-vein. Hindwings with tip of R branched. Male pygofer with short and pointed lateral projections. Aedeagus with apical portion short and broad; spatulate at the tip with left side slightly extended.

Etymology. The species name is a Latin adjective ( ignavus , -a, -um = inactive).

Type material. Holotype ♂ (forewing 3.8 mm), WEST MALAYSIA; labels: 1) MALAYA: Selangor / Nr. Kuala Lumpur / 17 m. IX-9-1958 2) Alpinia 3) J.L. Gressitt / Collector ( BPBM) . Paratype. WEST MALAYSIA: Selangor F.M. S. Kuala Lumpur, 16.X.1921, 1 ♂ (fw. 3.8), H.M. Pendlebury ( BMNH).

Distribution. West Malaysia.

Diagnosis. Muiralevu ignavus resembles M. telum sp. nov., also from West Malaysia, but has lighter forewings, shorter lateral projections on the male pygofer, and a shorter and broader apical part of the male aedeagus.
