Redescription. Forewings 2.1 times longer than wide, length: female about 4.2 mm. Stramineous, forewings powdered, faintly infuscated along parts of M, R and Sc, slightly stronger around first subcostal sector; veins stramineous to light orange in basal 1/3rd, orange-red in posterior 2/3rd. Hindwings colourless, veins light red.

Etymology. The species name is a Greek name of a person. We consider it to be a latinized noun used in apposition.

Type material. Lectotype ♀ (here designated) (forewing 4.2 mm, body 2.4 mm), FIJI ISL., labels: 1) Rewa , Fiji / Muir 1906 2) Type / halosydne/ Kirk 3) Levu / halosydne/ (Kirk.) ( BPBM #5204 ).

Note. Kirkaldy described this species from an unspecified number of male specimens from " Fiji, Rewa". As he did not indicate how many specimens he studied we designate the only available syntype as lectotype.

Distribution. Fiji Islands.

Diagnosis. Levu halosydne can be easily recognized by the orange and red veins of the forewings and hindwings.
