( Figs. 170f–o)

Description. Forewings 2.0 times longer than wide, length in male about 3.2 mm. Colour light reddish-brown, but rostrum, subantennal processes and legs stramineous to faintly brown. Forewings uniformly infuscated, darker around the apical forks of R and M; veins orange to light orange-brown, Cu and claval veins light brown. Rostrum surpassing hind coxae; subantennal processes connected to margins of facial carinae. Forewing with Ms1 branched in its basal quarter and with a small triangle at its base. Male genital styles broad with proximal dorsal process short, distal dorsal process finger-like. Aedeagus with apical portion broad and flat, the right side extending into a broad flat dorsal process which is directed towards the left.

Etymology. The species is named for N.L.H. Krauss who collected this species and ' kraussi ' is a latinized noun used in the genitive case.

Type material. Holotype ♂ (forewing 3.2 mm), TONGA ISL.; labels: 1) TONGA: Eua I: Hills / above Pangai , 100-/ 300 m, I.1979 2) N.L.H. Krauss Coll. / BISHOP MUSEUM / Acc. #1979.76 ( BPBM).

Distribution. Tonga Islands.

Diagnosis. Levu kraussi shows similarities to L. vitiensis Kirkaldy from Fiji and other more western Pacific islands in structure and forewing venation, but can be easily recognized by its dark coloration. The colour resembles that of L. rufulus Muir from Samoa and Guam, but differs in forewing venation (Ms1a straight and with a normal cross-vein to Ms1b), by its reddish-brown frons and facial carinae in front of the antennae, and by most forewing veins being tinted with orange.
