Key to the species groups of Rhotana

1. Forewings with prominent dark marks along the apical crossveins between Cu and Ms2 usually arranged in 2 rows of 4 spots each (e.g. Fig. 230f). The marks may be close together, only separated by red veins (e.g. Fig. 231f or 237f). If only one row then at least 3 spots present and area near the crossveins and the marks bright red ( Fig. 222f)...... Rhotana pavo group, p. 84

- Forewings not coloured in this way....................................................................... 2
