Saccharodite plurima Zelazny View in CoL , sp. nov.

( Fig. 308)

Description. Forewings broad, 1.8 times longer than wide, length in male 2.9–3.4 mm (mean = 3.1, n = 50). Colour stramineous; in profile facial carinae orange; frons and base of clypeus with a bright red mark, either completely covering frons with middle part lighter (holotype), or forming two broad stripes; posterior part of mesonotum, but not scutellum, with a bright red, rhomboid mark, the sides extended forward; thoracic pleura, middle and hind coxae, and middle and hind femora with red marks. Forewings glassy; very faintly infuscated at clavus tip, at base of Ms2, from apex of Cu to base of Ms1, and along apical crossveins; veins stramineous to orange-red; 4 piceous spots on base of Sc+R. Hindwings colourless, but part of claval vein red. In profile junction of vertex and face slightly angulated; subantennal processes connected to margins of facial carinae by a ridge. Forewings with Sc+R fork at middle of wing, basal median cell broad, about twice as wide as basal cell between Sc+R and M; a small triangle at base of Ms1. Male genitalia with pygofer narrow. Genital styles oval; proximal dorsal process broad at base, the tip slender and curved inwards; distal dorsal process long. Apical portion of aedeagus divided by a deep, longitudinal, dorsal groove; left side at its base with a flat, slightly pointed lobe, connected to aedeagus stem; right side longer with two narrow, pointed processes, one terminal process directed forward, and one lateral process, directed dorsad and slightly curved outwards.

Etymology. The species name is a Latin adjective (plurimus, -a, -um = many).

Distribution. North Borneo.

Diagnosis. Saccharodite plurima is indistinguishable externally from Sa. securifera sp. nov. as well as from Sa. spinosa Zelazny , and is very similar to Sa. lucifera sp. nov., all three also found in Borneo. It can be separated from these by the structure of the apical part of the male aedeagus. This bears a broad, flat, slightly pointed lobe at its base, a slender, pointed terminal process, and a pointed and slightly curved lateral process directed dorsally.
