Description. Forewings 2.2 times longer than wide, about 2.9 mm long. Colour stramineous but the following parts orange-red: margins of facial carinae, a small mark above eyes, a small mark on the antennae, apex of clypeus, middle of pronotum, bases of legs, and thoracic pleura; abdomen orange but the first three abdominal sternites and genitalia stramineous. Forewings white, powdered, with large clouds of infuscation along costal cells, in and around basal median cell, and from clavus tip along middle parts of median sectors and apical cross-veins to M; veins bright orange-red but the following are stramineous: claval veins, basal parts of Sc+R, M, and Ms2, apex of Cu1, and the basal, merged section of Cu1+Ms1. Hindwings white; veins bright red. Forewings with Sc+R fork just distad of basal third of forewings. Male genitalia with pygofer narrow. Genital styles widening towards the end which is truncated. Aedeagus ending in two short, rounded lobes.

Etymology. The species name is a Latin adjective (nubilus, -a, -um = cloudy).

Type material. Holotype ♂ (forewing 2.9 mm, body 1.6 mm), EAST MALAYSIA; labels: 1) NORTH BOR- NEO ( SE)/ Forest Camp , 19 km / N. of Kalabakan / 28.X.1962 2) K.J. Kuncheria / Collector / Bishop ( BPBM) . Paratypes: Same location as holotype, 10.X.1962, sex unknown (fw. 2.8), Y. Hirashima ( BPBM) .

Distribution. Borneo (Sabah).

Diagnosis. Sumangala nubila is similar to Su. distanti sp. nov., also from Borneo, but has bright red marks on head and thorax and more red forewing veins.
