In Canada, this widespread, common eucnemid species was taken in Ontario and Québec. In the United States, D. badius was previously recorded from Alabama, Arizona, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, and Wisconsin ( Muona 2000; Otto and Karns 2017). Three new state records reported for the first time include Connecticut, Delaware, and Rhode Island.
