Sporophores 3.8–6.0 × 0.8 mm width, sessile, plasmodiocarpous, elongate or short and rounded 0.4–0.8 diameter, scattered, white (chart/color= 1/1A) when mature. Hypothallus inconspicuous. Peridium twolayered, outer layer tick, smooth, egg-like (chart/color= 1/1A), but not bright. Inner layer membranous, thin, translucid, well distinguishable. Dehiscence irregular. Lime granules colorless and scattered 1.0 μm in diameter. Columella absent. Capillitium abundant, threads hyaline, very thin, 1.0 μm in diameter, wavy, scantily branched, with few or no anastomoses; capillitium with few membranous extensions at the junctions, filament surface smooth or with some roughness. Spore-mass black, brown (chart/color= 6/7E) under transmitted light, organized in clusters of ≥ 12–40 spores (chart/color= 6/6D), subglobose (9.0) 10.0–10.5 (11.0) μm diameter (Mean: 10.2 µm, SD: 0.32, n = 100), with some plates observed under SEM. Spores densely warted. Warts presenting blunt ends and irregularly arranged. Plasmodium not visualized.

Etymology:— The specific epithet “ aglomerospora ” is derived from the Latin word “ agglomeratĭo ”, which means the action or effect of agglomeration, making reference to the way spores are organized in this species.

Type:— Brazil. Pernambuco, Guadalupe Environmental Protection Area , 5 m elev. above sea level, 08°43’13.1” S, 035°05’45.9” W, 05 March 2018. Barbosa, D.I. 85858; 85859; 858510 (Holotype: UFP!) GoogleMaps .

Habitat:— Specimens sporulated on samples of live tree bark during the tenth week in moist chamber cultures, pH 5.0–5.7.
