Remarks. Marcuzzi’ s type series included specimens from Barbuda, Antigua, Nevis, and Saba, but in a bizarre twist, he designated the Nevis specimen as “ type.” Therefore, the type locality of N. barbudensis is not Barbuda, but Nevis. We find that the type series of the two subspecies are mixed between the shorter, more convex specimens and the more elongate ones. No populational differences were found in this taxon, which is quite variable in shape, punctation, depth of striae, as well as density of setae (this latter possibly being effected by age). The very distinctive genitalia are the same for all populations.
