Cenophorus Mulsant and Rey 1859: 113, 1860: 177 , type species: Cenophorus viduus Mulsant and Rey, 1859 by monotypy; Gebien 1938: 400 [413]; Iwan 2004: 739.

Remarks. This monotypic genus is limited to Hispaniola, and is readily identified by the unique pronotum which has the base depressed and lacking a marginal bead. The body is more cylindrical than any other West Indian blapstinoid. Recognition of this genus is based on its isolated morphological form
