Nelcyndana Distant, 1906 View in CoL View at ENA
Tibicen (Nelcynda) Stål 1870: 716 View in CoL .
Nelcyndana Distant 1906 View in CoL nom. nov. pro Nelcynda Stål, 1870 nec Nelcynda Walker, 1862: 129 .
Type species.— Tibicen (Nelcynda) tener Stål 1870: 716 . ( Philippine Islands)
Remarks.—The classification of the Madagascar species within the genus is questionable. Duffels (2010) showed the past concept of the genus was composed of a number of distinct genera primarily from eastern Asia. The inclusion of the Madagascar species could not be confirmed due to the COVID-19 pandemic limiting the ability to find a male for comparison. The holotype of the Madagascar specimen is a female ( Distant 1905d) so a determination of its generic position from that specimen would not be possible.
Distribution.—The genus is primarily found in Borneo, the Philippines, Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia with the single species from Madagascar ( Metcalf 1963b; Duffels & van der Laan 1985; Sanborn 2013).
