Remarks.—A tawny species marked with piceous. It is the only species of the genus where males do not have an inflated abdomen. Body lengths are 22–26 mm and wingspans of 68–74 mm. Indigenous people use the species as a food source ( Randrianandrasana & Berenbaum 2015).
Distribution.—The species is known only from Madagascar including Nosy Be ( Metcalf 1963b). Karsch (1890) and Jacobi (1917) report the species from western and central Madagascar and Nossibé.
